DO YOU INSPIRE OR MANIPULATE?
Network marketing is social marketing, a business that grows entirely on your relationship with people.I just learnt these nuggets from one of my leaders and thought might share them to inspire others.
Here is what he shared: There are only two ways to influence human behaviour. You can either manipulate or inspire human behaviour! Without clearly articulating WHY you do what you do, WHY your business exist or WHY you actually get up in the morning and do what you do; he says ‘ people don’t care’ period!
WHAT IS YOUR PURPOSE?
WHAT you do, will not inspire anyone. But WHY you do It, will have a huge impact on most people. People buy WHY you do what you do! You ought to have value in whatever you do.
We are all drawn to leaders and organisations that are exceptional at communicating what they believe. When they make us feel that we belong, we are special, safe and never alone in their organisation; that’s part of what enables them to inspire us.
He also shared that in order for values or guiding principles to be truly effective there should be verbs. Integrity is good but you need to add the ‘verb.’ So to be truly effective you ought to always do the right thing.
Innovation within an organisation is also very good. However without the ‘doing word’ nothing inspires people. This simply means you have to look at any problem from a different perspective. If we articulate all our values as verbs, it gives us a clear idea of how to act in any situation. We then become more effective. As a result we give more value to other people, thus inspire more people.
HOW DO YOU ACHIEVE A HAPPY BUSINESS?
To achieve a happy business, make sure you have happy team players. Satisfied team players guarantee satisfied customers. As a result, satisfied customers guarantee happy business! That should be maintained in the same order.

This actually surprised me! Powerful nugget!
Leading is different from being the leader! A leader is one who has the highest rank in an organisation, either by earning it, by favouritism or by navigating internal politics. Whereas leading, means that other people willingly follow you. They don’t follow because they have to, they do not follow you because they are paid to; but because they choose to and they want to!
WHAT IS YOUR ATTITUDE LIKE?
Skills are essential for any kind of business, but attitude is more important. Skills can always be taught but ATTITUDE ????, I don’t think so!
Attitude is an asset to the organisation. Great companies don’t hire skilled people and motivate them, they hire already motivated people and inspire them. People fall into two categories: They are either motivated or not motivated.
It is therefore of paramount importance to motivate team players in any organisation by giving them something to believe in. If they don’t see something greater than their job to aspire for, they will motivate themselves. They will do this by finding something different to do and you will be left without team players.
To effectively maintain trust, your organisation must actively manage its values and beliefs. Failure to aggressively work to keep clarity, discipline and consistency in balance, trust is lost; and that’s not a good place to be
All organisations start with a WHY, but only the great ones keep their WHY clear. Let that be your portion!
