PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT TIPS

BEGIN WITH YOURSELF

In order to succeed in network marketing, personal development is a must! Therefore, understanding the value of personal development as a leader in your team is of paramount importance. Learn to lead by example, hence make sure that you become a student of how to become a better you.

Remember, 90% of the things are developed, not taught. I must show that I have developed as a person compared to what I was 10 years ago. In order to make my business grow, I had to take the first step and develop myself as an individual, thus leading by example for my team!

Just like John Maxwell says, “if the leader fails to learn, the leader must stop leading.” This must be my number 1 priority. Many a time we always find a way to do something if we consider it important. If it is not, we will find an excuse and we never do the thing. If you develop yourself, people will naturally follow your leadership.

DAILY MAKE TIME FOR IMPORTANT THINGS

Allocating time for personal development to your daily routine is quite overwhelming. However, it is of paramount importance to include personal development as part of your daily routine. You cannot afford to make it just another activity in the long“ to do” things. IT IS IMPORTANT!

You are not expected to read several chapters at once or listen to long audio teaching, to get great results. If you spend  least 10 minutes per day to develop personally, that will give you massive results. Develop a habit of reading maybe just a chapter a day or listen to a part of the audio whilst driving. You will find this to be more manageable. Over a short period of time, you will have absorbed an incredible amount of content.

FOCUS ON CONTENT THAT WILL BENEFIT YOUR BUSINESS

Most people consume some type of media on a daily basis. What they fail to do is to consume content that will benefit their business. Trivial tastes such as celebrity magazines and reality show programs should be taken in moderation, just to keep yourself abreast of what is happening around you. Aim to replace one of those activities a day with personal development content, in order to improve your life. Webinars are a good source of developing oneself.

ACCEPT THE PROCESSDEVELOPMENT

Personal growth is a process. It is not just a ‘one off’ event! It must be part of your business and, part of your life. Human beings never cease to grow and evolve. I am a work in constant progress. The personal development, as anything valuable, takes determination and commitment. With time results will manifest.

A lot of people want to call the “process” a “struggle.” I always remind them that its not a struggle, it is exactly what you called it a process; and this process they need to embrace.

Wow! So true Gary. I was in that situation before! I felt like it was a struggle but like you say it is not a stuggle. I think its because withot a strong ‘WHY’ one can just be lazy! Thanks for that comment
